What We Do

St. Mary’s Dining Room provides the following caring services to the individuals and families experiencing homelessness and poverty in our community.  Our ability to provide this care is made possible through the generosity of our community. It is because of the community’s financial support, their gift of time through volunteerism, and their donation of in-kind supplies and materials that we are able to provide hope and dignity to the many men, women, and children that visit our campus each day.

Feeding the Hungry

There are over 116,000 people in San Joaquin County that face food insecurity, which is not knowing where your next meal is coming from; over 54,000 of them are children.

Caring for Health Issues

Our guests’ inability to pay for dental insurance and out of pocket dental care often results in severe dental issues which can affect an individual’s overall health.

Restoring Human Dignity

Illiteracy, mental and physical health issues, financial literacy, substance abuse and recovery are only a handful of the many barriers when dealing with poverty issues.
